It was fun listening to all of you.
Overall, it sounded like difference of culture/country than outsourcing.

1) Educational differences
2) Creativity.
I do not agree with Vinod's point of view about Indians being less creative. Creativity - how can it be compared?
If we look at tech stuff, US has an edge because of the 1st mover advantage. Germany has it for engineering. Japan is everywhere in cars/electronics

So, if US came up with technology - they saw the problems with it & they built solutions. We are just adopting things & not creating it for others to adopt
for e.g. Cars, Computers, MP3 player, Search Engines etc

For IT, we came into picture because of our analytical mind/english/cost & the kind of work (which is mostly not rocket science).

On a side note, I feel - our ancient knowledge is a gold mine (and it is opensource).
There is no patent on Yog, Ayurved, Scriptures. Our ancestors didn't feel the need of making money of it (by patenting it) & they did it right.

3) Consumerism
Unfortunately, we like following western countries. Producers know this & brand their product with "John blah" or something european & it will sell for sure.
Thanks to outsourcing, call center, more money available to a teenager than his/her father would have earned.
so Malls are nothing to be proud of.

I wish USD will equal INR. The real competition will begin at that time in terms of skill/creativity on a flat ground.
And then, having a pizza/coffee at mall will look like an effort to do.

Job loss of people in US is sad. It has happened to them & can happen to us.
China/Brazil/Russia might take away most of it in times to come.

I carefully listened to most of the stuff & have put what I felt (while listening) here.
I do not intend to be critical about anything that was discussed.
